VuzeVPN is a virtual private network service that is still in its infancy. Torrenters may recognize the name because it is related to the popular Vuze BitTorrent.
The operator, Azureus Software, Inc., provides very little information about the VPN’s history. As a result, it’s difficult to say how long it’s been on the market.
You can find the oldest VuzeVPN review on Google, which was published in the year 2020. You’ll also have a hard time finding user-generated VuzeVPN reviews right now.
So far, nothing has been found on Trustpilot or Capterra. On G2, there is only one VuzeVPN review, which gives the service a 4.5-star rating.
So, why should you trust an unknown VPN when you could simply use one of the more well-known options?

VuzeVPN has a lot of potentials, even if it isn’t the strongest competitor on the market.

VuzeVPN extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Edge were not found.
Five Simultaneous Connections
With a single account, you can connect up to five devices at once. It’s more than enough to protect all of an average American’s electronics.
Additional subscriptions will be required if you require more simultaneous connections on multiple devices. VuzeVPN currently does not offer a family plan. There’s no way to increase the five-device limit by purchasing more slots.
Unlimited Bandwidth
The amount of data you can secure with VuzeVPN is unrestricted. You can leave it on all the time if you want.
When connecting to your home network, it’s usually not necessary to hide your IP address or encrypt your internet traffic. After all, a VPN is most useful for securing your device against potentially dangerous public networks.
However, if you use a VPN at home, your online activity will be hidden from your internet service provider (ISP). Your ISP can monitor what you’re doing if you’re surfing the web, torrenting, streaming, or gaming without a VPN.
VuzeVPN for Windows, which offers unlimited bandwidth, can help you keep snoopers at bay.
Throttling Prevention
VuzeVPN can hide your online activity from your ISP, as previously stated. It won’t be able to deliberately slow down your internet connection this way.
As a result, using VuzeVPN can help you maintain a steady internet connection. You won’t have to worry about throttling if you visit the sites you want, binge-watch all day, or play games as much as you want.
Kill Switch
A kill switch is available in the VuzeVPN PC app. When your device loses connection to the VPN service, this feature forces it to go offline. Until it reconnects, your IP (Internet Protocol) address and DNS (Domain Name System) queries will not be accidentally leaked.
We put the VuzeVPN kill switch to the test to see how effective it is at preventing data leakage. We purposefully turned off our internet connection while it was still on and then turned it back on to see how it responded.
While VuzeVPN was rebooting, we tried loading ipleak.net to see if our computer could connect to the internet. We could see if there was any IP and DNS leakage if the site was able to load.
The VuzeVPN kill switch, on the other hand, worked as expected.
The app did not immediately reconnect. Despite this, it was able to block internet access by creating an encrypted tunnel to the last VPN server we used.
VuzeVPN Advanced Features
It does, however, lack advanced features such as double VPN and split tunneling. However, it has a few simple (but useful) features that not all VPNs have.
Auto-Launch
VuzeVPN for Windows can be set to start up automatically. You won’t have to manually start it every time you turn on your computer this way.
It’s not difficult to run this app on your own. But don’t expect to remember this task every time you sit down at your computer. A malicious party could hack your device if you forget to turn it on at least once.
After installation and setup, this feature is already turned on. But, just to be sure, double-check it in the settings.
Background App
You can close the software without disconnecting it by using this feature. VuzeVPN’s ability to run in the background can help you focus on what you’re doing by decluttering your screen.
If you want to disable it, look for it in the hidden apps section of the Windows taskbar.
Auto-Minimize
When the app is turned on, you can set it to automatically disappear from the screen. It’s not a huge time saver, but it’s useful when watching Netflix with VuzeVPN.
Automatic Updates
Azureus Software, Inc. may, at its sole discretion, perform VuzeVPN version upgrades on a regular basis and automatically.
By going to the settings, you can manually check for app updates. However, not having to do so all of the time can help to reduce the likelihood of a service failure.
VuzeVPN Servers and Locations
VuzeVPN has a fleet of over 200 servers spread across 49 countries and territories. Europe accounts for more than half of the total. The continent is home to twenty-seven VuzeVPN server locations.
VuzeVPN has about a quarter of its servers in Asia-Pacific. Only six countries in the Americas have access to the service.
With only one and three VPN servers, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East are the least well-represented regions.
VuzeVPN Speed
VuzeVPN claims to have lightning-fast speeds. It didn’t let me down.
We got the following results when we tested the app’s speed for this VuzeVPN review:

Overall, the VuzeVPN PC app hardly affected our internet connection.
We noticed a 2.53 percent decrease in download speed on average. VuzeVPN drove down our upload speed by as much as 25%. However, it increased our base ping by up to 16 times.
VuzeVPN Privacy and Jurisdiction
VuzeVPN does not appear to share Vuze’s headquarters in San Mateo, California.
As a result, we’ll assume it shares an office in Incline Village, Nevada with Azureus Software, Inc.
In any case, VuzeVPN is based in the United States. It was one of the first governments to conduct extensive surveillance.
The United States belongs to the Fourteen Eyes alliance. This group of 14 Western countries has been accused of spying on their citizens and comparing notes.
In addition, the Fourteen Eyes Alliance has been accused of exchanging intelligence with Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Israel.
VuzeVPN servers can be found in each of the 18 countries listed above. So, if Uncle Sam gets his hands on VuzeVPN’s databases, you can bet that the governments of the other 17 countries will get a copy as well.
VuzeVPN also has a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Russia.
The UAE does not outright prohibit VPN use. It, on the other hand, has no qualms about punishing users who question its internet censorship policies.
VPN providers are welcomed in Turkey and Russia. These repressive regimes, on the other hand, have been harsh on providers who refuse to cooperate.
Although there are currently no VuzeVPN servers in China, Hong Kong is a part of the vendor’s network.
The laws of mainland China may or may not apply directly to this former British colony. The Chinese Communist Party, on the other hand, has been eroding Hong Kong’s autonomy. It is, after all, technically Chinese territory.
Despite the risks posed by controlling governments, you can usually protect your online privacy by using a VPN with a no-log policy.
Does VuzeVPN offer such protection?
VuzeVPN users’ online activity may not be monitored by Azureus Software, Inc. However, it keeps track of personally identifiable information such as IP addresses and customer geographic locations.
Similarly, it keeps track of your devices and browsers. It also keeps track of browser events such as landing page views.
For a variety of reasons, including fraud prevention, police investigation, and marketing, VuzeVPN may share its data logs with third parties.
We’re not sure why Azureus Software, Inc. helps advertisers and publishers engage with their customers.
VuzeVPN is not a free service. Users’ data is usually not sold to third parties by vendors who make money from subscription fees.
When VuzeVPN becomes profitable enough, Azureus Software, Inc. may cut ties with advertisers and publishers.
VuzeVPN Security and Protocols
AES 256-bit and 128-bit encryption are used by VuzeVPN. Today’s brute force computing capabilities cannot break either.
VuzeVPN OpenVPN is the only option for tunneling protocols.
Because of its versatility, OpenVPN is the most widely used protocol. It’s not the best at everything anymore, but it’s still a good tunneling protocol for:
- torrenting
- streaming
- private web browsing
This will not be the only option for users when Azureus Software, Inc. releases its other Vuze apps.
Other tunneling protocols are better suited to mobile platforms. When the company releases its VuzeVPN iOS and Android apps, we expect IKEv2 (Internet Key Exchange v2) to be among the options.

These tests were conducted using Google Chrome. VuzeVPN for Windows had detected no data leakage from our browser, according to the results.

How Good Is VuzeVPN for Torrenting?
P2P (peer-to-peer) file-sharing is supported across VuzeVPN’s entire network of servers. As a result, there is no dedicated VuzeVPN P2P server list.
This service successfully hid our real IP address from the network, according to our tests.
The result of the VuzeVPN P2P sharing address detection test did not surprise us in the least.
Azureus Software, Inc. is a torrenting company. As a result, VuzeVPN and uTorrent (or any other BitTorrent client) should work well together.
Can VuzeVPN Bypass Geoblocks?

Ease of Use
VuzeVPN’s user interface isn’t particularly attractive. Its aesthetics are outdated, despite conforming to the universal design of VPN clients.
The VuzeVPN server list is a little disorganized. The options are not displayed in alphabetical order or based on proximity. There isn’t even an icon for speed. It’s impossible to tell which VPN servers are the fastest at the time of connection.
You can also only select VPN servers by country. You won’t be able to choose one that is based in a city with a time zone that corresponds to the restricted content you want to unblock.
Despite this, the server list has a fast-loading search engine. To get good results, you don’t have to type in the entire country or territory name.
It’s a simple and painless process to set up the app. In a minute or two, the VuzeVPN client will be up and running.
VuzeVPN does a great job at what it does, but the app is buggy.
We were able to switch servers as often as we wanted. However, we were unable to do so in a single session.
Our masked IP and DNS addresses remained the same when we moved locations. Every time we wanted to connect to servers in a different location, we had to restart the VuzeVPN client.
This software flaw is likely to be the most common complaint in future VuzeVPN reviews.
Customer Support
VuzeVPN Support is only available through a website form. To receive a response from VuzeVPN, you do not need to sign up for the free trial or any paid plan.
Its customer service team has been transparent about its response time, which is 1 to 2 business days. When we emailed them the first time, however, a representative responded within 24 hours.
Unfortunately, we had to send more questions each time and wait an average of a day for a response. If the content on VuzeVPN’s website had everything one needed, we wouldn’t have contacted them on multiple occasions.
To be fair, the VuzeVPN Blog is a promising resource. There are how-to articles, guides, and other interesting reads on the site.
The blog has 15 entries as of the time of writing this VuzeVPN review. However, we anticipate that this content library will expand. In December of 2020, the first post was published. In May 2021 alone, at least four more were added.
When the vendor’s support team receives a sufficient number of emails, the company may decide to create a FAQ page. It has the potential to make life easier for new users.
VuzeVPN Price
There is no free version of this VPN service. You can, however, take advantage of VuzeVPN’s free trial.
VuzeVPN offers a seven-day free trial with no credit card information required. If you want to stop using the service before it expires, you won’t be charged.
This policy could be altered in the future. Azureus Software, Inc. may reverse its position and request payment credentials upfront. VuzeVPN’s free trial will automatically convert to a premium subscription if this happens.

VuzeVPN Review – Verdict
VuzeVPN gives us mixed feelings.
On the one hand, while P2P sharing and streaming, this VPN consistently spoofs our location. Furthermore, it never allowed any traffic data to be leaked while under its supervision. Its kill switch was also genuine.
On the other hand, the fact that it is currently only available for Windows is a disappointment. Also, we would have felt more secure if Azureus Software, Inc. did not collect any personal information from users other than their email addresses.
We’d also like to see more customer service options. Only the online form is available at the time of writing this VuzeVPN review. The content on the site raised more questions than it answered basic concerns.
VuzeVPN excelled in terms of functionality. However, its developers must work out the kinks before serious users looking for the best VPN service will consider it for a long-term subscription.
